President Lincoln Visits

President Lincoln (Robert Costello) and his entourage will visit the JPL on Thursday, February 16, at 7 pm. Admission is free, refreshments will be served.

Live & Love, Gluten Free Cooking Demo & Food Tasting was held at the Presbyterian Church 175 Gatzmer Ave. on January 20. The very successful demo was hosted by the Friends of the JPL. Tricia Hetzell brought the group into the kitchen while she prepared tasty foods prepared with gluten-free products. Questions and answers were discussed during the preparation. A packet was given to each participant containing the recipes, information on gluten-free products and tips to watch for when dining out. All were pleased and shared experiences and information with each other.

Pennies Across Jamesburg - Did you know it takes 84,000 pennies end to end to make a mile? Well, it does. Since our little town is just about a square mile we thought we would do a penny collection for a mile (or more!). When we collect in the library, that money will be used for new programs/building maintenance. Drop by with your extra pennies and help YOUR library.

To date this year, the Friends have sponsored a Get-acquainted party for the new director, a beading workshop, two trips to Longwood Gardens and two bake/yard sale. The Friends have also paid for new bookshelves, computer table and a major structural improvement. Your participation in Friends activities and programs is essential to maintaining the JPL as an important part of the Jamesburg community.

Friend of the Year 2010

The Friends of the JPL honored Ann Sabatino at a reception February 5, 2011. Ann was selected as Friend of the Year 2010 for her outstanding dedication to the Jamesburg Library. Ann is a Trustee as well as a Friend and has given countless hours to helping the Library and serves as an example to members of the community. Thank you, Ann .
